“Beer made Milwaukee Famous” the saying goes. And the families that made the beer called Concordia home. The Concordia neighborhood and just beyond saw the highest concentration of beer barons and their families. That made sense with many of the city’s most prominent breweries just East (mostly near Highland) and west along Watertown Plank Road, today’s State Street.
