Virtual Open House:   S.J. Janis Company

The Virtual Open House:

This home was the S.J. Janis Company's featured project for a Metropolitan Builders Association’s Parade of Remodeled Homes. Over the weekend hundreds of people experienced their remarkable work converting an outdated house into one of modern, functional elegance.

And then it was over.

But through a tour like this an unlimited number of prospective clients can still experience it... virtually, 24/7, no matter where they are and with minimal effort or expense. If an open house is a far more powerful selling tool than showing still photos, then a virtual open house like this is clearly the next best thing, and far more flexible.

Background:

The owners of this mid-century modern home in Brookfield, WI were happy with its location and square footage, but the challenges of adapting the space for entertainment versus family function required an innovative design solution. The kitchen, dining room, living room and mudroom were remodeled as an open concept design. The renovations, modern accents, and cantilevered light shelves highlight this home’s linear lines throughout the updated spaces.

With the removal of a load bearing wall and a repurposed flow into a connecting mudroom, all public space now develops a cohesive design with contrasting woodwork. Strong linearity and a full height custom tile backsplash compliment the modern style of the home. Horizontal-grained quartersawn cherry cabinetry introduce an abundance of storage with an integrated homework station and organization center. A fireplace facelift and open basement staircase with nickel balusters completes the design vision.
